Keyboard / Mouse lag constant beeping Windows 7 and 8 Fix!!

I had this issue of keyboard and mouse lagging on startup for a good 2 minutes; beeping every time I would press a key or move the cursor.

I tried a bunch of different articles with no solution:

My problem turned out to be sticky keys being enabled:
  1. Start up the Ease of Access Center
  2. Select "Make the keyboard easier to use"
  3. Turn off Filter Keys and Toggle Keys, go into Set up Filter Keys
  4. Disable the keyboard shortcut for Filter Keys, optionally disable the Other Settings.

2016 Update: A lot of users are running into this problem but the fix I mentioned did not work for them. If you encounter it now, I recommend testing the following scenarios to narrow down the problem area:

1. Test the keyboard / mouse on another machine.
2. Test a new keyboard / mouse on the problematic machine.
3. Look for any processes that might be bogging down your CPU at 100%.

  1. My keyboard response is so f*cking slow.. When I type a letter it appears after 2-3 seconds.. Also when I hold my keys and click with my mouse I get this beeping sound and my mouse freezes. I tried everything.. from updating drivers to system restores etc etc..
Everyone says it's something different; some say it's the battery, some say it's a driver issue. I don't know what to do anymore.. Filterkeys aren't even enabled on my laptop and yet I'm having this problem. Please help.. :(

    1. Some say it is related to the new fix in the Xbox controller driver. Kind of makes sense, since it happened to me as well when the controller turned off. Another strange issue is that my dongle keeps desyncing. I think it's the controller.

    2. I think this is the case. It's only happened recently, after unplugging my xbox one controller from my computer.

    3. Interesting. I recently had this start happening. Also have a xbox one controller (wireless). However, unlike The5JewBankers, I haven't had desync issues. No fix yet.

    4. Same thing here. God I hate Microsoft. Spend more time fixing their crap than actually using it.

  3. Can confirm. Was working fine until xbox controller got disconnected and then beeping started.

  4. Unknown, I have been trying to figure this out myself on my system and it seems you might have hit the nail on the head, the xbox controller. Everything works fine on my system, until the xbox one wireless controller turns itself off and the problem occurs. This might be an issue with an updated xbox driver.
I may have to see if hte issue happens if I jsut remove the xbox controller.
    Thank you for this idea

  6. Unknown from March 11 was right. It was a bug in the Xbox One wireless controller driver. They fixed it sometime in April.

  7. Though we all want our chairs, a permanent asset to last long;it doesn't make any sense that it will cost hundred of dollars or will be broken apart or colors will be fade away. You can get the ergonomic chairs here in your budget which will be durable, adjustable, will be of perfect height and you can have chairs here of your prefernces.9 to 5 ERGONOMICS
